Luckily, Atlus is persistant, and as of 2007, thanks to "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3," the franchise has managed to pick up an ever-growing fanbase. Here are some other SMT games (for PS1 and PS2) that you may be interested in if you've ever played - and enjoyed - Persona 3.
- Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for the PS1.
- Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 for the PS2
- Nocturne for the PS2
- Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army for the PS2
- Persona 4 for the PS2
- And the upcoming Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon for the PS2 as well.
But not to neglect the PS3, our old friends at Sega have released a true gem of a strategy roleplaying game in 2008 which, unfortunately, thanks to the big-name releases, went mildly unnoticed. "Valkyria Chronicles" (not related to Valkyrie Profile) is one of the freshest strategy games I've played in a long time, in every conceivable way: from its mix of free-roam/turn based/third-person shooter combat to its unbelievable watercolor visuals, the game should not be overlooked by ANY fan of strategy rpgs.
