Re: Iced Earth
If you're going to post good Iced Earth, why post from Crucible of Man? Shit's so trite.
Night of the Stormrider, Burnt Offerings, Dark Saga, and Horror Show is where good Iced Earth is. And the Something Wicked trilogy.
Fuck yes someone else that likes Iced Earth. They're my favorite power metal group. I also love the joint project Jon Schaffer did with Blind Guardian's Hansi, "Demons & Wizards."
Kids these days, listening to their pretentious alternative rock and saying they have good taste in music.

Re: Iced Earth
I just post what I'm currently listening to. It's actually not a bad album at all, imo.
However, Horror Show is brilliant.
The Dark Saga, also brilliant.
Something Wicked... probably brilliant (i.e. it is).
Love Iced Earth. Though I'd probably classify them as more prog metal than power metal. But they most definitely do have that power/speed/thrash emphasis.

Yeah, I was just being facetious. It's not a HORRIBLE album - of course it's no where near their best. I just hope Schaffer is finished with his Set Abominae story so that he can go back to writing RAGE lyrics for Barlow to sing. He does that best.
And of course this is after I just admitted I love concept albums in another thread. It's just...seems like he's beating this concept to death.
Also, they've definitely lost a lot of their power/trash influence over the years. There's just nothing they put out that can compare to the stuff on Stormrider and Burnt Offerings.

Re: Iced Earth
The raw power of this song, especially from their live album during their Athens tour, is incredible.

Actually, no. I wasn't really referring to anyone on this forum. Just in general. I work at Best Buy so I'm prone to eavesdropping on hipster teens coming in and talking about games, music, movies, and how much they're so cool.
