the only thing i would change is

add approximately 80 more pixels to the width of the background image so that it safely covers widescreen resolution of 1680x1050 (the current resolution for the background image is 1600x1200, the height doesn't matter really)

You can do it if you want. I don't have that kinda screen so I wouldn't know if it's correct.

Well if figured in the remakes, I played the original and 2. Although I don't own the original

I played honey-ass's version. Lol.

My version was the original. the only star ocean at the time that came out here... I muh prefer the ps version over the psp version of the star ocean 2 game
