Why... why...?

I work in a casino... and I meet lots of ppl there. I met a pregnant women and she was smoking! That has to be one of the most selfish women I have ever met.

I understand that in the modern age women are fighting for the right to as they wish with their own bodies. However once pregnant it is not just their body they must consider! To willing hard your own child, is such a vile thing in my eyes... It literally made me sick, I had to distance myself to avoid any potential conflict.

Many women smoke while pregnant. Drew's mother smoked with both of them. And my mother with all of us except the newest one Anika.
I'm not smoking. And I would never do something like that.

Well I am also allergic to tobacco smoke, and I think Mary as well. So I am a bit biased with my dislike of smoking. However, when you know the that smoking is unhealthy and continue to do so while carrying child. Is that not the pinnacle of selfishness?

And how do you work in a casino and are allergic to tobacco smoke?

Sorry, around here it is a nickname for marijuana. I just do, it is not very fun with my allergy. However I do my best to avoid it.

the child is the one that often pays the price. you can only hope the mother realizes at some point how asinine her actions are when her baby is lying inside a glass box with several different complications and 2 tubes going down their throat.

but i suppose the temporary "feel good" state that cigarettes provide were worth it.

Shit happens regardless of the mother smoking. My niece was born 3 months prematurely for some inexplicable, unidentified reason. No one in my sister's house smokes or drinks.

Dumb luck, brother.

Just because there is possibility of complications despite not smoking. Does not mean it is ok to smoke and vastly increase the chance and severity of the complications.

Not condoning smoking while pregnant. I'm against it. Just pointing out that shit happens whether we do something or not. Sometimes being too cautious is worse than being too lax.
