    That's because Guts is by far one of the most badass character's ever made.

    He also went through a dark past. Which I got to love.

    As for him being the epitome of emo. I would say that is azactly what he is. O.o
    He does infact tell a character in the manga that if she can't stand life(Father just died) to take a knife and kill herself. He then gives her a knife.
    I would call that Anti-Emo >>

    Anyways. I love the character because he is epic. O.o
    It was the gore of the manga that I fell in love with though.
    Then It was a cruelty, and messed up stuff.
    Like his girlfriend being raped by those demon's. Then by griffith right afterward infront of Guts. He chops his own arm off just to attack him.

    ...I have read some of it... The art was nice but the dialogue is just too painful. But those are my thoughts on it anyways.
