The Meeting

"Out of the facility they were holding me. But that really is of little importance."

There is a pause and I look at you confused.
"Facility?"

"Yes Sir."

"Tell me about it. Why were you there?"

"Truth is Sir I don't know. I was brought there a long time ago. All I know is that when they need me they let me out, and when they no longer need me they put me back."

"Oh..." I look at you strangely.
"So, you've been in there your whole life?"

"No I wouldn't say that. I have a memory of before I was in there."

I look at you questionably.
"Would you mind explaining?"

"A memory of how I got my name."
I look up into the sky with gaze that almost seemed solemn.
"He was an old man... the one who gave me this name... I actually didn't know him we weren't related. I only knew that he owned a shop, and that he liked the sound of rain. But I hated it then..."

"Hated the rain? Why is that?" I smile.

I blush a little at your smile.
"Because back then I lived on the streets... and the rain would be bothersome. But back then when the man told me why it rains and the reason why I was drawn to the mans shop was cause of the most beautiful sound of all...... Rain Drop prelude."
I smile the first real smile.
"The old man told me that the sky always sheds tears now when when that song played. He said the sky remembers the man who created such beauty when beauty couldn't be seen on a rainy day.

I look at you and smile.
Then turn around to hear Alex's smart ass comment about the whole thing..
But he's gone.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but we may have trouble."
I ready my gun.

I become serious again.
"Affirmative. Therons dead ahead!"

I gasp and run towards a run down car.
"Where in the HELL is Alex?!" I point my Sniper around the car and shoot. I get one.
Three more to go.

I run to near by sand bags.
"I have no idea Sir. But no time to worry about him now we have our own problems."
I put my pistol away and take out my sniper I aim at the oncoming locust head and fire.

"Nice shot."I say as you get two in a row.
I shoot the last one and it falls.

"I have been wondering about this Sir. We have had countless waves after us. Why is that? Before I met you everything was fine, but now they seem to know where we always are. Is there something you not telling me?"

"Ahhh....." I look around.
"No. Maybe I'm just unlucky?"
I scratch the back of my head.
"Or maybe it's my loud mouth."

"Hmmm well maybe..."

I look down at the pendant hanging from my neck and then back at you.
"Lets keep moving."

"Understood."
I start walking behind you.

We start back tracking looking for Alex, but he's no where in sight.
"I wonder if the Locust got him..."

"I have no idea Sir. Considering the way he was I would say he ran away."

"Hum." I look around. "Then lets head back then. No sense in us looking for a runaway."

"We are not looking for him Sir. We are heading back to base."
