Brown. and. Bloom. The Unreal engine can't do anything else.

Where did your game freeze up, by the way? I'm on the second disc now and I wanna know what to be wary of.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
I was fighting the big bug like boss hell if I know what the name of it is. Um since I haven't gotten that far on the second disc (stopped playing after beat the bug like boss) Since your level seems to be high? You shouldn't have too much to worry about. The only problems I had was with the waves of the stupid phantom soilders. I believe there were eight waves ambush after ambush. My level was in the mid 40'so then but you might already be higher. The bug like bosse name is insect Queen grigori I think. I was in my level was early to mid 50's when I fought it. Those are the only things I had problems with so far every thing else was easy.

Alright, then I'm pretty much exactly where you are. I just killed Amaros Manifest (the bug boss).
Wasn't that hard once you realize what to do; blindside it and hack away, over and over and over and over.
The waves of phantom soldiers weren't hard, either; and in fact, it almost made me rage quit because it was frustrating - not difficult. This is what I like to call "ball-breaking boss." The types of bosses that aren't strategically hard, just fucking cheap. To put it short, I went into the fight with a bonus board of 100% hp, 20% fol, and 3% HP/MP.
I managed to keep it all until the very last ambush, in which Edge was crit-hit THREE. FUCKING. TIMES. IN. A. ROW.
Not to mention the soldiers had such cheap-shit attacks that, if they ganged up on you, you could barely make a move. AND to top it all off - you HAD to kill them with crits?
No, fuck you tri-Ace. If you need to resort to irrationally cheap fights to make a hard boss you're much better off not making games at all.
Luckily I managed to keep a 110% exp bonus when defeating the bug boss, so I got 2 levels for every party member out of that; Edge is 55 now.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Yeah those fucking phantom shits pissed me the fuck off with their constant attacks. But I ended just being a pussy for those battles and just sat back and healed and every once in awhile I wold attack then runaway XD. I am sure I would have beaten the boss the first time if the fucking game didn't freeze on me.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
I got the game a couple of days ago.
I love the style. It's really a beautiful game.
I'm only on the second planet.
Just got Lymel. Don't like her much.
Faize is my favorite character so far.
I do not like Reimi at all.
And the Welch... I want to kick in the face.
The design for her changed so much. And her personality doesn't fit her at all. It annoys me.

Funny, since Welch is probably the only character in the game who's voiced well.

Actually Bacchus's voice isn't too bad and neither is Myuria. The voice actor for her is one of the few english voice actors that I can actually stand. Welch I think has a bit of the same personality... from the first and second game. But I am not sure if I like her design or not. :/ Glad you like the game so far B but just wait you will want to kick Edge's ass lol

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
tri-Ace should've really went out on a limb for better voice actors overall. I mean seriously, I don't think there's one A-list English VA on the cast.
The only one I really consider worthwhile is Michael D. McConnohie, who - so far - has only done a small piece in the game, "Lightspeed Kenny," at the very beginning.

No like I said before they should have given the option to change the english voices to japanese voices.

Is Lightspeed Kenny related to Ronyx and Claude?

Oh why is that B? Did you have a bad experience or maybe because they don't give back much money when you trade it in?

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
I don't usually. I'm a nostalgiafag, and even if I know I have no intention of playing the game again, I'll generally not trade it in.
Unless the game pissed me off so much, or if I know the trade in will go towards something so phenomenally better - like Dark Athena.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
I ALWAYS wind up wanting to play the game again.
So I'm not doing it again.
Plus, Game Stop can suck my dick with their trade in values.

I don't think I have ever tarded anything in. In the end I just can't part with anything.
